As A Contemporary Landscape Painter
I Prefer to work with oils on canvas and paper in order to depict
my vision of the sun's defining light on elements in nature. My
fascination with the dramas created by light and shadow patterns
on natural forms has drawn me to paint many spectacular geologic
rock formations. I feel that these rock structures serve as a glimpse
into our past -- as a reminder to us of our place on this ever changing
planet. In my most recent series of paintings called the "Guardians"
I have allowed the rocks to reveal the faces and forms held within
them, so that their spiritual emergence will recall to us all to
take care with the land.
